The film 'Duplicate' marks the debut of the comedian Suraj Venjaramoodu as the hero and this is being directed by Shibu Prabhakar who is making his debut. The story revolves around one Sivankutty who puts his hand in many businesses but then he is unable to make profits. So then he decides to become a prankster to earn a living and in this process, he takes ornaments from his sister promising that he would return them in few days. That does not happen and he ends up giving duplicate ornaments to her. When her husband tries to sell them, he gets arrested by the police and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.
